Goats’ Milk
Our Dairy Goats are French Alpine and Toggenburg. Our interest in the dairy goats has been to experience the benefits of raw goats’ milk, production of goats’ milk cheese and production of some homemade goats’ milk soap. The Farm Hand has graduated from a cheese making course taken at the University of Vermont in the spring of 2011. We have already made a bit of cheese here and there but hope that as we begin milking twice as many does in the spring of 2012 that we will have enough milk left over to make larger quantities and make them available to others.
We accept seasonal goats’ milk shares customers which provides one with a 1/2 gallon of fresh goats milk each week. Stay tuned to this page for updates as we begin milking in April of 2012 and making cheese and soaps.
If you have an interest in fresh goat’s milk, please let us know.
Goat Milk Share’s Program
Our Goats’ Milk Share program is a month to month arrangement. Goat Milk Shares are available beginning in April of 2012. (we are in the process of freshening our does for next year). Click here for the herd book.
The monthly fee is $35/month which entitles you to 1/2 gallon of milk per week. A $10.00 refundable deposit is required for the goats milk bottle.
