It seems fitting..
My last blog entry was this very same day last month and was entitled “A Fast January”. Now, as I sit here, the same 27th day but of February this time, it is clear it was a fast February as well!
Spring is on the horizon. Temps still below freezing at night for the next 10 days or so; but the days are getting progressively warmer to the feel; the daylight hours lingering, the sun more intense and the light cast from the sky above a little different. The birds know it too it would seem. No doubt there may still be a little flurry or two...but the trend is heading in the absolute right direction.
Aetius leaves on Saturday morning. We will miss him; but he will be so loved and welcomed in his new home in Florida. His new mom has been waiting patiently for him and I know she’s so excited to finally get him home!
It won’t be long before the chicks (both the hen variety and the turkey variety) arrive. I do believe then hens come first. The chickens have begun laying more and more frequently now, they seem to know it is nearly springtime too. It is nice to be able to have our eggs again for breakfast in the a.m.
Spring has a way of getting me scurrying around. I have an overwhelming urge to clean, tidy, purge, organize, make lists of things I would like to get done etc. Finding time to fit it all in will be the challenge.
