Babies in the Barn
These two little baby swallows have been growing up in a nest in the barn. I love swallows in the barn. They had a sibling that fell out of the nest very early on and did not make it, but these two have been thriving with some dutiful parents bringing food on what seems like a constant basis.
Hard to believe that Horatius will reach his three month old mark tomorrow. Such a handsome devil he is! He will seem all grown up and mature by the time the next expected foal finally arrives.
I took the time to purchase and hang up some pigeon deterrents this past week. I think it has actually helped somewhat. Not completely, but somewhat.
It has been dry these last several weeks and the grass is not growing like it was when we were inundated with rain. We need the rain now; and thankfully the forecast ahead is riddled with cooler temps (80’s) and regular daily rain/thunderstorms.
Turkeys are growing well. I will look forward to getting them outside when the time is right.
